Maternity Session in the Dandenong Ranges

Daughter sitting in mum's lap blowing dandelion seeds at their Maternity Session in the Dandenong Ranges

This maternity session in the Dandenong Ranges was so much fun to photograph- how is it that two year olds can have sooooo much personality in such a little body?! Two year old Ava definitely stole the show, but I bet when her little sister arrives she will have some stiff competition!

Few things in life drag on longer that the final weeks of pregnancy. There is excitement to see your newest little family member, nerves about the birthing process and a decent amount of discomfort due to carrying around an entire little human in your very stretched out belly. That said, in the grand scheme of life- being pregnant is a blip on the timeline. It’s a short, miraculous time of life where you simultaneously wish for it to be over, but also to never end. Making time for a maternity session can wrap up all of those thoughts, feelings and hopes into a beautiful set of images that you can look back on forever. Even though pregnancy is fleeting, these photos aren’t.

Carla & George wanted to gift these images of their maternity session in the Dandenong Ranges to their daughters as a little piece of their history to hold on to and I think that is such a thoughtful, important gift. Documenting these big milestones for future generations is so important to show the love and care that came before them.

Does adding a toddler to the mix change the vibe of the session? Absolutely. But in my opinion, it makes it even more rich and meaningful. Also more chaotic, but that is just what you get with toddlers! I love to capture this time before they become a big brother or sister, it can be so sweet to see the way they don’t quite understand the concept, but are super excited anyway.

Please enjoy the images from this session with the Lazopoulos family!
